This hotel's best asset is its staff. The room was adequate if a little dated. We stayed on the executive floor and got a very good rate. (not during the fair). The breakfast and the evening snacks were good but not fantastic like many exec. lounges.
The staff in the exec. lounge were pleasant and friendly. We left the hotel in heavy rain and the deputy manger accompanied us to the station in the free shuttle and held umbrellas over our heads while we left the van at the station. We have never had that sort of service anywhere in the world.
Other hotels, White Swan, Garden etc had impressive lobbies and we would probably choose somewhere else next time, but would stay at this hotel if we got a good rate.

I have already stayed at the Guangzhou Holiday Inn numerous times. It is a very efficient hotel for a business stay in Guangzhou. The check in is each time very fast and professional. The rooms have a good size and are clean. The internet access is charged extra but is very fast. The breakfast buffet is not huge but absolutely satisfactory with a very attentive staff. Around the hotel a several bars and restaurants.
Overall, if you are looking for a business-oriented trouble free stay in GZ, this hotel will serve you fine.
Koochers :
We stayed in the suites for 4 nights. The suite is the size of an apartment and tastefully furnished. The bathroom is huge and has a seperate shower.
The club floor is fantastic and evening cocktails are great with help yourself.
The breakfast is plentiful and good quality.
Only critisism is the club floor has only one computer and the whole time we where at the hotel this was being hogged by children of people staying at hotel, we had to tell them to give other people a chance to use the computer.
Overall would stay there again without hesitation.
